Coverage
Neighborhoods we deliver to
We run dumpsters out of our 6845 Amboy Rd yard across every corner of Staten Island and out into Richmond County and Staten Island's South Shore. If your community is not on this list, call us anyway. We probably still get there.
Before you call
Have these four things ready
- 1
The delivery address
Street address, and if access is tight — a narrow driveway, a shared lot, an older block near St. George — mention it. We plan around it either way.
- 2
What is going in it
Household contents, roofing, mixed construction debris, furniture, yard waste — and flag anything hazardous, like chemicals, fuels, batteries, tires or refrigerants, so we can guide you on safe disposal instead of loading it in with everything else.
- 3
Where it should sit
Driveway, curb lane or jobsite. In most cases, placement entirely on your own property needs no permit; a street or curb placement is a different matter — tell us when you book and we'll walk you through it.
- 4
When you need it
Same day, tomorrow morning, or a set date — and roughly how long you want to keep it. Extensions are easy to arrange, but planning ahead is best.
Permits
Property vs. public right-of-way
On your own property
A dumpster that sits entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot is how the large majority of jobs we deliver across Staten Island and Richmond County get set up — placement on private property generally sits outside the street-permit rules that a curb or right-of-way placement can trigger. If you're not sure exactly where your property line falls, ask us when you book and we'll tell you plainly before the truck ever leaves the yard.
On the street or right-of-way
Placing a container in a public street, a parking lane or anywhere else in the right-of-way is where a New York City DOT permit typically comes into play. NYC311 lists the requirement under service code KA-02700, covering a Commercial Refuse Container permit (up to 5 consecutive days), a Construction Debris Container permit tied to an active building permit (up to 90 days), a Bulk Item Refuse Container permit for cleanouts (up to 5 days), and — for a more permanent setup — a Refuse Container Enclosure through DOT's Revocable Consent process. The rules live under Section 2-14(f) of the NYC Highway Rules, and the permit itself is typically obtained by the carting company or the general contractor on the job, not filed directly by the homeowner. We won't guess at a fee we can't confirm in writing — ask us when you book and we'll point you to the carting company or contractor handling the paperwork, or to NYC311, to confirm exactly what your street requires. And if the job also involves digging — a fence line, footings, a new driveway apron — call New York 811 at 811 before anything goes in the ground, whether or not you're renting from us.
Answers
Contact questions
What information do you need when I call?
Four things, and the call takes about two minutes: the delivery address, roughly what you're throwing away, where you want the container to sit, and when you need it. If you're unsure about the size, describe the pile and we will size it. A photo of the driveway or curb helps if the placement is tight.
Do you serve my community?
We cover Staten Island and out to Tottenville, Great Kills, Annadale, Eltingville, New Dorp and St. George — 6 neighborhoods in all, spanning Richmond County. Just outside that? Call anyway — we can usually make it work.
What are your hours?
Mon–Sat 7:00am – 7:00pm. Deliveries and collections run through the working day. Ring outside that window and leave your address on a message — we'll call back first thing.
Can I email instead of calling?
You can email info@statendumpsterrentals.com and we'll reply, but the phone is far quicker for anything time-sensitive. Sizing a container is a conversation — two questions on a call usually settles what an email thread will not. For same-day delivery, always ring.
Is there a charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and given over the phone, not an estimate that moves later. Pricing depends on dumpster size, debris type, and rental period — tell us the job and we'll tell you exactly where yours falls, and when a smaller container does the job, before anything is booked.
Do I need a permit for my address?
Depends where the container sits. In most cases, a container entirely on your own driveway, yard or lot needs no permit. Placement in a public street or the right-of-way is a different matter and typically runs through a New York City DOT permit obtained by the carting company or contractor — mention it when you call and we'll walk you through what your job needs.
