Why Staten Island calls Staten Island Dumpster Rental Solutions

Our truck, our team, our yard

Staten Island Dumpster Rental Solutions was built on a simple idea: make dumpster rental straightforward and honest for homeowners, contractors and businesses across Richmond County. When you dial (718) 808-9313 you reach a real local team working out of our own 6845 Amboy Rd yard — not a national booking site forwarding your call to whoever picks up first. Every job runs on our own truck, our own driver and our own yard, from a driveway in Eltingville to a jobsite out toward Great Kills.

That local footprint is most of the job. Knowing which Staten Island streets a loaded roll-off can actually turn onto — plenty of them narrow, plenty of them one-way — and which ones can't handle one at all. Knowing that Staten Island runs on the ferry and its own roads rather than a subway line, so a delivery timed around traffic on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge or the West Shore Expressway matters. Knowing the difference between a clean yard-waste load and one tangled up with construction debris. Our goal is simple: make waste removal easier and more responsible for everyone across Staten Island and Richmond County, from a garage cleanout on the South Shore to a commercial strip-out near St. George.

  • Clear, flat-rate pricing — the number we quote depends on size, debris type and rental period, never a surprise
  • Same-day service available across Staten Island and Richmond County
  • Responsible disposal — clean loads sorted for recovery, not buried whole
  • A smooth, hassle-free rental experience from the first call to the last pickup
  • Locally run and locally accountable — not a referral desk passing your job along

Why choose us

Six reasons Staten Island homeowners and contractors keep our number saved

  • Local, not a call center

You reach a real Staten Island team, not a national dispatch queue. The person who answers knows which Staten Island streets a loaded roll-off can actually turn onto and which Richmond County neighborhoods a truck can actually reach.

  • Flat-rate pricing, no surprises

Delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal rolled into one flat-rate price based on the size you book, the debris type and how long you keep it. If something would push you over, we tell you before the truck ever leaves the yard.

  • Same-day when you need it

Call early and most Staten Island and Richmond County orders go out the same or next day. Live jobsite swap-outs get priority over everything else on the schedule.

  • Run by Vincent Marchetti

Founder & CEO Vincent Marchetti and the Staten Island Dumpster Rental Solutions team coordinate every delivery out of our 6845 Amboy Rd yard — not a national dispatch desk. We know which Richmond County roads a loaded roll-off can actually reach.

  • The right box, not the biggest

Weight fills a container long before volume does. We will talk you into the smaller can if that is the honest answer for your job.

  • Loads sorted the right way

Metals, masonry, unpainted wood, drywall, carpet and clean concrete all get routed for recovery instead of buried wherever's easiest — we will tell you what has to come out of the box before it ever reaches the scale.

Know before you load

What goes in the box, and what doesn't

A short list is a hard no in every container we set. Hazardous liquids, chemicals, fuels, batteries, tires and refrigerants never go in a Staten Island Dumpster Rental Solutions roll-off, no exceptions. Ask us when you call and we'll point you toward the right disposal option instead — DSNY's Household Special Waste Drop-Off site off the West Shore Expressway takes limited household hazardous materials on its own schedule.

Clean debris gets sorted for recovery, not buried whole. Metals, masonry, unpainted wood, drywall, carpet and clean concrete are all things we would rather see routed for recovery than dumped straight into a landfill cell. DSNY's own curbside bulk pickup is free and handles small homeowner-scale loads, but it does not cover construction or renovation debris — that's exactly the gap a private roll-off is built to fill.

Placement on a public street is its own question. A dumpster that stays entirely on your own driveway or lot generally doesn't need a street permit worked out in advance. Set one out in the curb lane and NYC DOT typically requires a permit first, usually pulled by the carting company or contractor rather than the homeowner. And if any part of the job involves digging — a footing, a fence post, a new driveway apron — call 811 or New York 811 a few business days ahead, the correct one-call center covering all five boroughs. Ask us when you call and we'll tell you what we know.

How it works

From your phone call to an empty driveway

No forms, no portal logins, no waiting on a quote email. Five steps, and the first is a conversation with somebody who's actually loaded a container.

Two minutes on the phone is the whole booking

Tell us the address, roughly what's going in, where you want it and when. That's the entire process on your side. We handle sizing, scheduling, protection, hauling and disposal — for one flat-rate price based on the size you need, the debris type and how long you keep it.

If you're not sure what size you need, don't guess — describe the pile. Sizing containers is what we do all day, and we'd rather talk you into the cheaper box than sell you space you'll never fill. Placing it on the street instead of your driveway? Ask us, and we'll tell you what to confirm before we deliver.

Call (718) 808-9313
  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the box needs to sit and when you need it. No forms, no waiting on an email.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one flat-rate number covering delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal — depending on the size you need, the debris type and how long you keep it. If a smaller box does the job we will say so.

  3. 3

Delivered on boards, where you want it

The driver walks the spot with you, lays protection under the rails and sets the container square in the driveway, curb lane or job site.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it level with the top rail and keep the banned items out. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and sort it right

Clean concrete, metal and yard waste get routed for recovery rather than buried wherever we can. You get your driveway or curb back the way you left it.

The thing nobody tells you

Bigger is not always the safe choice

Most people ordering their first dumpster assume the biggest container is the least risky option. With light, bulky material — furniture, boxes, insulation, cabinetry — that's true. With anything dense it's the opposite.

A 30 or 40-yard box loaded with roofing shingles off a tear-off, or with plaster and lath torn out of an older Staten Island home, will blow past its weight allowance while it still looks half empty, and the overage gets charged separately. A 10 or 20-yard with a matched bag capacity — see our size chart above for the real bag-count numbers on each size — often does exactly the same job for less.

Ask us and you'll get the honest answer, even when the honest answer is the smaller box.

Staten Island & Richmond County specifics

Staten Island's South Shore, neighborhood by neighborhood

Staten Island is legally coextensive with Richmond County, one of New York's original counties, named in 1683 for the Duke of Richmond — the borough itself wasn't officially renamed from "Borough of Richmond" to "Borough of Staten Island" until 1975. It's the only one of the five boroughs with no land border to another one, separated from the rest of the city by Upper New York Bay and reachable from Manhattan mainly by the free Staten Island Ferry, which has run since 1817 and remains one of the busiest ferry routes in the country. That geography earned Staten Island its long-running, informal "Forgotten Borough" nickname — locals also call it the "Borough of Parks" for the roughly 170 parks and thousands of acres of protected green space spread across the island, including the Greenbelt in the interior. The real Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, pictured behind our crew above, opened in 1964 and is still the longest suspension span in the Americas — it's also the reason the South Shore boomed with new housing through the 1960s and '70s, since it was the first fixed link connecting the island to the rest of the city.

Out from our 6845 Amboy Rd yard, we regularly run to Tottenville, Great Kills, Annadale, Eltingville, New Dorp and St. George — the neighborhoods that round out our core service area across Richmond County. Freshkills Park, on the West Shore, was once the world's largest landfill; it closed to municipal waste back in 2001 and has been converting into parkland ever since, a genuinely unusual local landmark for a waste-industry neighbor. Recent reporting indicates the North Shore around St. George and Stapleton is in the middle of a significant wave of housing and waterfront investment, which keeps this yard busy with construction roll-offs on that end of the island. DSNY's free curbside bulk pickup handles small household loads but does not cover construction or renovation debris, and any commercial refuse container set out on a city street needs its own NYC DOT permit — two of the regulatory quirks that make a borough this size, this spread out and this water-bound genuinely different to service well. Hurricane Sandy in 2012 hit the East Shore hard, and storm season still drives real demand for debris cleanup across the island. Wherever the job sits across Richmond County, the container shows up sized right and the driveway comes back clean.

These quotes aren't pulled from a review platform — they're illustrative examples we wrote to show the kind of experience we aim for on every job, not verified customer reviews.

Called on a Monday morning and had a 20 yard sitting in the driveway by early afternoon. Boards down, spot leveled, and the driveway looked exactly the same when they picked it up a week later.

Kristin H.Staten Island — Garage Cleanout

We build all over Great Kills and this is the only hauler that has never left us sitting on a full box. When they say Tuesday, it is Tuesday.

Mike R.Great Kills — Residential Builder

Cleared out my mother's house over a few weeks and they were patient the whole way through. One call and a 20 yard showed up the next morning — took the stress out of an already stressful job.

Renee O.Tottenville — Estate Cleanout

Renovating a house near St. George and they worked around a tight, narrow street without any hassle — showed up when they said they would and left the curb exactly as they found it.

FAQs

Dumpster rental questions, answered

The questions we field most often from Staten Island homeowners and contractors. More on the full FAQ page.

What dumpster size is best for a remodeling project in Staten Island?

Most kitchen and bathroom remodels fit well in a 15-yard or 20-yard dumpster — enough room for cabinetry, fixtures and flooring debris without paying for space you will not use. Larger renovation projects and whole-home cleanouts, the kind we see often in the older housing stock around Tottenville and New Dorp, usually call for a 30-yard. Describe the rooms you are clearing when you call and we will point you at the size that actually fits — even when that means talking you into the smaller box.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Staten Island NY?

Pricing depends on the dumpster size, the debris type and the rental period — we keep affordable dumpster rental front and center with flat-rate options that cover delivery, the rental period, pickup and disposal, with no surprise fees added afterward. Call with a short description of what you are clearing and you will get a straight answer on where your job falls.

What items are not allowed in the dumpster?

Hazardous liquids, chemicals, fuels, batteries, tires and refrigerants are not permitted in any container we set — no exceptions. If you are not sure whether something on your pile counts, ask before you load it and we will point you to the right disposal option instead.

Do you serve areas outside Staten Island?

Yes — we provide dumpster rental services throughout Staten Island and surrounding neighborhoods including Tottenville, Great Kills, Annadale, Eltingville, New Dorp and St. George. If your address is not on that list, call anyway — we can often still get there.

How quickly can you deliver a dumpster in Staten Island?

Same-day dumpster rental service is available and perfect for urgent projects — most orders called in early from our 6845 Amboy Rd yard go out the same day, with later calls typically landing first thing the next morning. We run Mon–Sat 7:00am – 7:00pm.

Do I need a permit to place a dumpster on my property?

Placing a container entirely on your own driveway or property generally does not require a street permit. A dumpster set out in the curb lane or public right-of-way is a different matter — NYC DOT requires a permit for any commercial refuse or debris container on a city street, typically obtained by the carting company or contractor rather than the homeowner directly, and construction-debris containers tied to an active building permit can run far longer than a general cleanout container. If any part of the job involves digging, call 811 or New York 811 a few business days ahead — the correct one-call center for all five boroughs, Staten Island included.
